BioNJ, New Jersey’s life sciences trade association, hosted the Inaugural Health Equity in Clinical Trials MBA Business Plan Case Competition. The competition was designed to encourage innovative approaches and models that can strengthen diversity in clinical trials and promote health equity. Eight teams developed business plans for solutions, applications, or technologies addressing health disparities in clinical trials, connecting with community-based organizations to better understand real-world barriers. The disease areas they focused on included Alzheimer’s, heart failure, multiple sclerosis, diabetes, colorectal and cervical cancers, and oncology.
A panel of judges comprising industry experts evaluated the presentations, and three winning teams received cash prizes. The white paper with the presentations will be published in April and shared during BioNJ’s BioPartnering Conference.
